• How many times I can restore my engineered wood floors?

  Engineered wood flooring comes in three standard thicknesses: 20 mm, 18 mm, and 14/15 mm. The top layer, made of materials like oak, walnut, beech, or maple, varies between 3 mm and 6 mm. Each sanding process removes about 1 mm of the top layer, with an additional 1 mm needed for factory defects and floor leveling. Consequently, a 3 mm top layer can only be sanded once, while a 6 mm top layer can withstand 3 to 4 restorations.

• What can go wrong with DIY floor sanding?

  Hi,

  Restoring your floor can be challenging without prior sanding experience and knowledge. Floor sanding requires specific skills that are typically gained through experience.   Our sanding and oiling service includes 2 coats of clear hardwax-oil or 1 coat of colour oil followed by 1 coat of clear oil. Ocassionally we can increase the number of coats depending on the timber species we are sealing.

• Can you extend exsiting flooring over a fireplace hearth?

  Yes, if you are planning to remove a fireplace hearth and you have parquet flooring, floorboards or planked flooring we may be able to help. After the repairs, with matching the floor spare material, the floors will need to be sanded and refinished.

• Do you have insurance for your floor restoration works?

  Yes.
