How many times I can restore my engineered wood floors?

Hi Richard,
Engineered wood flooring comes in three standard thicknesses: 20 mm, 18 mm, and 14/15 mm. The top layer, made of materials like oak, walnut, beech, or maple, varies between 3 mm and 6 mm. Each sanding process removes about 1 mm of the top layer, with an additional 1 mm needed for factory defects and floor leveling. Consequently, a 3 mm top layer can only be sanded once, while a 6 mm top layer can withstand 3 to 4 restorations.
Can I install underfloor heating under engineered flooring?

Yes,
Underfloor heating is ideally installed under engineered wood flooring with a click installation system. This allows for the floating installation of the engineered floorboards, without the need of gluing-down or nailing-down. Engineered floors have been specifically designed to withstand temperature and colour variations and are therefore perfect choice for homes with underfloor heating.
What can go wrong with DIY floor sanding?

Hi,
Restoring your floor can be challenging without prior sanding experience and knowledge. Floor sanding requires specific skills that are typically gained through experience. Yes. We provide re-oiling / re-waxing service for wooden floors, with original oil-based finish. We can also do a site visit to assess if the condition is applicable for re-oiling service or if floor sanding and refinishing will be required instead.
Please be prepared with some photos as well, showing the condition of the floors.
How many coats of oil are included in your service?

Our sanding and oiling service includes 2 coats of clear hardwax-oil or 1 coat of colour oil followed by 1 coat of clear oil. Ocassionally we can increase the number of coats depending on the timber species we are sealing.
